A reliable evergreen shrub, commonly known as Cowberry, well suited to UK gardens, prized for its autumn colour.
It grows to around 0.3m tall with a spread of 1m. It is best in partial to light shade, in acid to neutral soils, and prefers moisture-retentive soil. It produces white flowers in summer, with red fruits. Reliably hardy across most of the UK and valuable for wildlife, attracting bees and birds.
