Weigela florida 'Marjorie'
Weigela florida 'Marjorie'
Common name: Marjorie Weigela
Description: This classic weigela cultivar is celebrated for its prolific display of deep pink to rose-red tubular flowers that create a spectacular show from late spring into early summer. The trumpet-shaped blooms are produced in such abundance that they often obscure the foliage, creating a stunning cloud of colour. The fresh green ovate leaves emerge in spring and provide an attractive backdrop once the main flowering period concludes. 'Marjorie' often produces a lighter second flush of flowers in late summer, extending the season of interest. The naturally arching branches create an elegant, rounded shrub that works beautifully in mixed borders, cottage gardens, or as an informal flowering hedge.
