An excellent deciduous large shrub or small tree, commonly known as Dissected Japanese maple, for structure and long-term presence, notable for fine autumn tints.
Growing to around 1.5m tall by 1.5m wide at 10 years. It is best in partial to light shade, in acid to neutral soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Fully hardy throughout the UK. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
