A versatile deciduous shrub, commonly known as Japanese maple, that earns its place in borders and mixed plantings, prized for its autumn colour.
Reaching around 2m tall by 2.5m wide at 10 years. It is best in partial to light shade, in acid to neutral soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for ornamental red stems. Fully hardy throughout the UK. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
