Amelanchier alnifolia 'Obelisk'

An excellent deciduous large shrub or small tree, commonly known as Alder leaved serviceberry, for structure and long-term presence, valued for its fragrant white flowers.

Growing to around 2m tall by 1.5m wide at 10 years. It is best in full sun, though it tolerates some shade, in acid to neutral soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Notable for good autumn colour and black fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the fruits provide food for birds.
