Description: This striking perennial produces vibrant plumes of rich red flowers that create a bold display in summer. The feathery flower spikes rise above mounds of attractive, deeply divided, ferny foliage that often has bronze tints, bringing both intense colour and texture to shade borders. Red astilbes are perfect for adding drama to woodland gardens, bog gardens, pond margins, and shady borders where their vibrant plumes create impact in darker areas. The flowers are excellent for cutting whilst the attractive foliage provides structure throughout the growing season.
