A reliable evergreen shrub, commonly known as Spotted laurel, well suited to UK gardens, providing year-round structure and foliage.

Growing to around 1.2m tall by 1.2m wide at 10 years. Happy in sun or partial shade on most soils, and copes well in dry shade and is drought-tolerant once established. Notable for red fruits and ornamental black stems. Reliably hardy across most of the UK and the fruits provide food for birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
