Betula utilis var. jacquemontii
A first-rate deciduous tree, commonly known as White barked Himalayan birch, offering real character in the landscape, prized for its autumn colour.
Expect it to reach around 9m tall by 3m wide at 10 years. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. It produces yellow flowers in winter, spring, with attractive silver bark. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the flowers are a good nectar source for bees.
