Common name: Yunnan camellia
Description: An evergreen shrub with large, bold dark green leaves and large, semi-double red flowers borne from late winter into spring, typical of the showier reticulata camellias.
Other benefits: Exceptionally large, bold red blooms; handsome evergreen foliage; excellent specimen shrub for a sheltered border.
Wildlife attraction: Early flowers provide a useful nectar source for bees on mild days.
