Carex morrowii 'Everglow' (EverColor Series) (v)
Common name: Everglow Sedge
Description: This striking evergreen sedge produces vibrant foliage that brings year-round colour and movement to the garden. The narrow, arching leaves feature warm orange-bronze tones with distinctive cream to golden-yellow margins, creating a luminous effect that appears to glow, particularly when backlit by sun. The fine-textured foliage forms dense, fountain-like clumps that add texture and movement to planting schemes. In late spring to early summer, slender brown flower spikes emerge above the foliage, though the plant is primarily grown for its exceptional foliage colour. 'Everglow' maintains its intense colouration throughout the year, providing valuable winter interest when many other grasses have turned brown. This tough, low-maintenance sedge tolerates a wide range of conditions and works beautifully in mixed borders, containers, or as edging along paths. The warm tones combine particularly well with purple, blue, and silver-foliaged plants.
