Common name: Wallich's Wood Fern 'Jurassic Gold'

Description: This stunning cultivar represents a breakthrough in fern breeding, offering spectacular golden-yellow new fronds in spring that emerge like gleaming shuttlecocks from the crown. The young fronds are covered in golden-brown scales that create a shimmering effect, and the fronds maintain their vibrant chartreuse-yellow colour well into summer before gradually maturing to lime-green. The large, architectural fronds can reach impressive proportions, creating bold statements in shaded areas. This is a semi-evergreen fern that retains much of its foliage through winter in milder areas, providing year-round structure. The combination of size, colour, and architectural form makes this an outstanding specimen for woodland gardens, shaded borders, or as a dramatic focal point. This is one of the most spectacular coloured ferns available and brings luminous colour to areas where few other plants can compete.
