Geranium x oxonianum 'Rose Clair'
Common name: Oxford Cranesbill 'Rose Clair'
Description: Geranium x oxonianum 'Rose Clair' is a vigorous and floriferous hardy geranium producing a continuous succession of soft salmon-pink flowers with darker veining throughout summer — one of the most appealing colour forms in the oxonianum group. It forms a spreading, semi-evergreen mound of attractive, deeply lobed foliage and flowers with exceptional freedom from early summer onwards, often continuing well into autumn. It is an excellent, low-maintenance ground cover plant for borders and is particularly effective as a weed-suppressing underplanting for roses and shrubs, where its soft colouring complements a wide range of companions.
Other benefits: very long flowering season; soft salmon-pink with darker veins; vigorous weed-suppressing ground cover; excellent under roses and shrubs; low maintenance
Wildlife attraction: bees and other pollinating insects throughout the long flowering season
Height & spread (approx.) at 10 years: 40–60cm x 60–80cm
Position: full sun to partial shade; borders, underplanting, and naturalised areas
Soil pH: adaptable — neutral to slightly alkaline (pH 6.0–7.5); tolerates most soils including chalk and clay
Moisture: low to moderate; drought tolerant once established; grows in most conditions
Winter hardiness: fully hardy to -20°C
