A garden-worthy evergreen herbaceous perennial, commonly known as Bearded iris,, easy to establish and generous in flower, grown for its blue flowers in spring, summer.
It grows to around 1.2m tall with a spread of 0.46m. It is best in full sun, in acid to neutral soils, and needs good drainage. Fully hardy throughout the UK. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
