This modern Dutch variety combines the best characteristics of Golden Delicious and Ingrid Marie to create a superb dessert apple.
Elstar produces attractive medium to large fruit with bright red striping over a yellow background. The crisp, juicy flesh offers an excellent sweet-sharp flavour with aromatic qualities.
The tree is moderately vigorous with good disease resistance and reliable cropping. Spring blossoms are white with pink edges, providing excellent pollination opportunities. This variety has gained popularity amongst British growers for its consistent performance and excellent fresh eating qualities.
