A graceful deciduous ornamental grass valued for its natural habit, notable for fine autumn tints.
It grows to around 2.4m tall with a spread of 1.3m. Happy in full sun, though it tolerates some shade on most soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. It produces grey flowers in summer, autumn, with white fruits. Fully hardy throughout the UK and the fruits provide food for birds. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
