A first-rate deciduous tree, commonly known as Black tupelo, offering real character in the landscape, notable for fine autumn tints.
Expect it to reach around 4m tall by 4m wide at 10 years. It is best in full sun, though it tolerates some shade, in acid to neutral soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. Fully hardy throughout the UK.
