Parrotia persica 'Vanessa'
An excellent deciduous tree, commonly known as Persian parrotia, for structure and long-term presence, notable for fine autumn tints.
Growing to around 5m tall by 6m wide at 10 years. It is best in full sun, in acid to neutral soils, and grows well in reasonably drained soil. It produces red flowers in winter, spring, with attractive grey bark. Fully hardy throughout the UK. Holds an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
