Pinus nigra 'Marie Bregéon' - 40 cm Std 15 litre
Common name: Marie Bregéon Austrian Pine
Description: This distinctive dwarf cultivar of the Austrian pine offers exceptional ornamental value in a compact form. 'Marie Bregéon' develops a dense, broadly conical to rounded habit with a somewhat flattened top as it matures. The bright green needles are notably shorter than the species, creating a fine textured appearance, and they are arranged in attractive tufts at the ends of the branches. New spring growth appears as pale "candles" that provide additional seasonal interest. This slow-growing conifer maintains excellent symmetry with minimal pruning, developing character and maturity even at a young age. Its compact size makes it suitable for smaller gardens, rock gardens, and container planting where a touch of evergreen architecture is desired.
Other benefits: year-round structure and colour, low maintenance, excellent winter interest, pollution tolerant
Wildlife attraction: provides shelter for birds and small wildlife, seeds may attract some bird species
